Kaiser Permanente, the nation's largest HMO, is replacing some of its licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) with registered nurses (RNs). Plus, nearly half of all new nurses in the nation leave the profession within the first two years of the job. But in Wisconsin, a new nurse residency program has slashed that percentage to just 10 percent. Lastly, a new study finds that clinics run by nurses are more effective in reducing the severity of Atopic Eczema in kids than a center staff with dermatologists.
