What kind of personality does it take to enjoy per diem nursing? I don't want to waste time studying the wrong thing. Would you recommend reading some "find the right career books"? How did you realized that nursing was the right career for you? |

the key i have found is never ask the assisting personel to do anything you are not willing to do yourself. make yourself available to assist with pt. care. be FLEXIBLE. remember that nursing is a dynamic field and not static. |

Yes, flexibiility is a must to work per diem(some call it flex). Working per diem gives one the opportunity to experience all specialties of nursing and in turn can expands career opportunities. As a child I enjoyed helping others whether it was washing dishes or running errands. In high school my career choices were becoming a nurse or vet(as I love animals) and needless to say I became a nurse. |
